Garry Harrison

It is with a great deal of sadness that we let all of you know of the unexpected death of Garry Harrison this past weekend.  Garry had been Head of the General Preservation unit since July of 2000 and was employed by the Indiana University Libraries since December 28, 1998.  More details will follow as they become known.

  • Louise says:

Garry was one of the best bosses I ever had. He had a big heart and generous spirit. My thoughts go out to everyone who will feel this loss.

  • Stacey Costabile says:

I can’t say how sad I am to learn of this. He was a great boss, a wonderful teacher, and absolutely passionate about books. He always made us laugh during our lab shifts, even when we’d been sewing pamphlets for hours and he made us redo them… twice ;). I will always have fond memories of our time in the lab and he’ll definitely be missed.

  • Mary Popp says:

Garry’s death is a big loss to the Libraries and to all of us. He was knowledgeable, kind and funny. Sending deepest sympathy to Garry’s work family, to his home family, and to his many friends.

  • Jonathan Ingels says:

Garry was a great guy. He always welcomed me into the ALF as though I had been there my whole life. Taken much too soon…my sincerest condolences to his family.

  • Phil Ponella says:

I am stunned and saddened. Garry was always willing to help, and assisted me on a number of occasions. My condolences to his family and friends.

  • Marianna Brough, Neal-Marshall Black Culture Center Library says:

Garry was such a nice, decent person; he will be sadly missed. My deepest sympathy to his family.
