Tax Time

Filing taxes is never fun (at least not until that refund check arrives) but we compiled some sources to hopefully make it a little less painful.

Check out our snazzy Guide to Tax Information created by ET2’s very own Sarah Alexander! This has pretty much everything you need to know about where to find tax forms and how to get help interpreting them.

Ever wonder why you have to pay taxes? The Department of the Treasury Resource Center has a good page on the History of Taxes.

There is also a Brief History of the IRS, including a description of the 16th Amendment, that allowed Congress to levy an income tax.

Did you know… that in 1918, during WWI, the top income tax was 77%? Seventy-seven percent! The rate dropped right after the war, but can you imagine?

That’s all for now. Feel free to email with any further questions!
