The next Metadata Discussion Group meeting will be on Tuesday, March 5, from 9:30—10:30 in the Wells Library, Room E174 (note the room change). Library staff, SLIS faculty and students, and those on campus interested in the topic are welcome to attend.
Standards governing archival description and access have evolved considerably over the last thirty years. This summer heralds the release of three archival description tools: the 2nd edition of Describing Archives: a Content Standard (DACS); a revised schema, Encoded Archival Description (EAD); and a new content management system for archival materials called ArchivesSpace. At the March meeting, we’ll discuss any/all of the above and perhaps more!
DATE: Tuesday, March 5
