The next meeting of the Metadata Discussion Group will be on Tuesday, January 10th. Library staff, SLIS faculty and students, and those on campus interested in the topic are welcome to attend.
In response to requests from participants after last months’ discussion of the Library of Congress’ Bibliographic Framework Transition Initiative, this month we will be discussing how LAMs might cope with legacy data. To inform our discussion, we will test-drive a few transformations of MARC to other XML-based schema, such as MARCXML, MODS, and EAD.
